SEO is not dead

SEO is not dead

Engaging in search engine optimisation (SEO) by producing good quality content should be part of businesses’ overall marketing strategies, one expert has said.

In a post for Search Engine Land, Danny Sullivan explains why SEO is not dead – as some writers are suggesting – and its role in marketing today.

Commenting that businesses should use SEO as part of their overall campaigns, he adds that companies could benefit from not relying solely on SEO for their results.

Firms should not expect SEO to jettison them into instant success, he explains – rather, it may be part of long-term marketing campaigns.

“Are you thinking about the copy you write? And most of all – do you have good content?,” Mr Sullivan questions.

He adds that other marketing methods, such as word-of-mouth, can help to bolster online marketing strategies.

Econsultancy’s recent annual Marketing Budgets report showed that businesses will be spending more on their online marketing campaigns this year.
